![]() Do You Know...
Why we stand to sing? Why we clap our hands? Why
we lift up our hands? Why
we offer audible praise to God? What
is the song of the Lord? Why
we prophesy? Why
we permit the gifts of the Spirit? Why
musical instruments are a part of the worship service?
Why
the worship service is longer? When we gather for worship, the Lord wants to meet with us. His purpose is not seeking
worship, but rather He is seeking worshippers. For every service God has a plan and
a purpose. That means the worship leader, singers, musicians, and all the
congregation must function in their priestly relationship with God to hear what the Spirit
is saying and make room for that to be expressed in our lives individually and as a
congregation. We wait in His presence until we hear in our hearts His purpose for
us. That may be revealed through song, prayer, exhortation, intercession, or
spiritual warfare. ( Colossians 3:16-17 ). He is an awesome God and cannot be
explored in a few minutes or praised in a moment. God is a rewarder of those who
diligently seek Him ( Hebrews 11:6 ) He is our strength and our portion ( Psalm 73:26 ).
Why
the symbol of our church is clay pots? They are
to remind us that "we have this treasure (the light and life of Jesus) in earthen
vessels that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not ourselves"
( 2 Cor.4:7 ).
